Girls’ Generation member Seohyun was one of a select number of people to receive phone calls from South Korea’s president Moon Jae In for the Lunar New Year!
On the afternoon of February 15, president Moon Jae In made phone calls to eleven citizens including Seohyun, as well as a young person who is searching for employment, a public health doctor, a Vietnamese woman who followed her Korean husband to Korea and has now become a police officer, and more.
Seohyun was chosen to receive a call after recently performing with a North Korean music ensemble.
It’s reported that during the call with Seohyun, president Moon Jae In expressed his gratitude to Seohyun about her performance. He said, “The sight of the South and North holding hands and performing touched the whole world.”
Seohyun replied, “I was happy to be able to take part in the historic moment.”
One of Seohyun’s representatives and the director of the Blue House’s Chunchugwan (presidential press center) have told the story of how Seohyun suddenly came to perform with the North Korean ensemble.
