The two are currently appearing in tvN’s fantasy romance “Hwayugi.” Song Jong Ho plays Hankook University’s sociology professor Kang Dae Sung, a handsome man who appears to be gentle, and a strong contender for the upcoming presidential election. Lee Se Young plays the dual role of Jin Bu Ja, a zombie brought back to life by Sam Jang’s (played by Oh Yeon Seo) blood, as well as the priestess Ah Sa Nyeo, who served a king but was put under a thousand-year-old seal, only to be recently revived in Jin Bu Ja’s body.
In the last episode, Ah Sa Nyeo revealed her powers to Kang Dae Sung by killing the museum curator. Kang Dae Sung was shocked by her powers, to which she shared, “I can do much more,” tempting him. He then asked, “Can you call upon a dragon meant for a king?” The priestess expressed her desire to become a kingmaker once more, and thus a villainous alliance was created. Ah Sa Nyeo then used Jeo Pal Gye (played by Lee Hong Ki) to get Jin Sun Mi and Kang Dae Sung to meet, making Jin Sun Mi see the end of the world, as she saw in the jar of misfortune.
The stills show Lee Se Young and Song Jong Ho becoming quite the formidable pair, as they meet in secret. They exchange sharp glances with one another. Lee Se Young wears a chic expression with a slight, sly smile while Kang Dae Sung also grins cunningly. However, in another still he appears angry, holding a slight frown on his face.
The two reportedly had a good time filming these scenes despite their age difference and got along well. Song Jong Ho took good care of Lee Se Young and the two kept smiling in between the serious takes. They also discussed their opinions on the scene together, working well as a team.
“Hwayugi” airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. KST.
