The TV Chosun historical drama tells the story of the intense sibling rivalry between princes Lee Hwi (played by Yoon Shi Yoon) and Lee Kang (played by Joo Sang Wook), who are willing to fight to the death for both the throne and the love of the beautiful Sung Ja Hyun (played by Jin Se Yeon).
Newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode show Lee Hwi unhappily parting ways with his beloved Sung Ja Hyun as he heads off to war. Lee Kang, Lee Hwi’s ambitious brother, remains calmly by Sung Ja Hyun’s side as the two lovers say their goodbyes.
In Episode 5, Lee Hwi aggressively told his brother to stay away from Sung Ja Hyun, going so far as to grab him by the collar and declare, “You can have whatever you want! But don’t touch her.”
However, on the next episode of “Grand Prince,” Lee Hwi voluntarily puts Sung Ja Hyun in his brother’s hands so that Lee Kang can safely escort her home and take her far away from the battlefield. When Lee Hwi worriedly asks him not to bother or pressure her in any way, Lee Kang tells him, “Don’t worry, I’ll take excellent care of her.”
The large-scale action scene, which involved many horses and a team of stuntmen, was filmed on January 29 on an island in North Chungcheong Province. The three actors reportedly displayed exceptional teamwork as they worked together to figure out the perfect blocking for the scene, with Yoon Shi Yoon particularly enlivening the atmosphere on set with his endless passion and energy.
The drama’s producers commented, “With each new episode, Yoon Shi Yoon, Jin Se Yeon, and Joo Sang Wook’s love triangle will become deeper, more intense, and more vicious. Please look forward to the epic of the Grand Princes’ fierce battle for one throne and one woman.”
To find out why Lee Hwi must leave Sung Ja Hyun’s fate in Lee Kang’s hands, tune in to the next episode of “Grand Prince” on March 24 at 10:50 p.m. KST!
