ARMY is theorizing that BTS may be taking the stage at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) this year!

BTS is nominated for a Top Social Artist award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, after they took home the trophy last year. While they were attendees at the 2017 show, many fans are hoping that they’ll not only be invited again this year, but also have the chance to perform. Hopes are particularly high after the positive response to BTS’s American television performance debut last November at the American Music Awards.

On April 23, Billboard began announcing the performer lineup for this year’s ceremony. So far, artists Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes, and Camila Cabello have been confirmed.

However, BTS fans have found what many think may be a clue that BTS will be announced as performers soon. On the same day as the first performers were announced, a tweet was posted by Mike Mahan, the CEO of Dick Clark Productions, which produces the Billboard Music Awards.

He wrote, “another Day, anOther big @BBMAs anNouncEment tomorrow! GET READY!!!!!”

Fans were quick to notice that the capital letters in his tweet spell out the word “Done.”

Mike Mahan previously used “Done” as a reply to BTS fans when they asked him to invite BTS to the award show last spring.

On the day of the show, he posted a photo of himself together on the red carpet with BTS and used the hashtag “Done.”

Mike Mahan also used “Done” to reply to an ARMY who was hoping that BTS would be the next performer announced for the American Music Awards last fall.

However, things don’t seem to be a “done” deal just yet because Mike Mahan has also used “Done” to reply to a fan who was hoping for a Demi Lovato performance as well.

Still, the fan who received the “Done” reply about the Billboard Music Awards from Mike Mahan in 2017 has already replied to update him with their wish for 2018!

The Billboard Music Awards will air on May 20 on NBC. BTS will be making their comeback two days before on May 18 with their new full album “Love Yourself: Tear.”

Stay tuned for updates on whether the big announcement tomorrow is a performance by BTS!
