TVXQ’s Yunho spoke about his decision to appear in MBC’s newest variety program “Dunia.”

On May 22, a press conference was held for the new variety program at the MBC building in Seoul with Yunho, Jung Hye Sung, Kwon Hyun Bin, Koo Ja Sung, WJSN (Cosmic Girls) member Luda, Sam Okyere, DinDin, Don Spike, Hansel, Austin Kang, and producing directors (PD) Park Jin Kyung and Lee Jae Suk in attendance.

Yunho said, “I’m in charge of the positive energy in ‘Dunia.’ I worked hard so that you all can feel the energy in many episodes. It has sincerity and is dramatic, and it’s fun working with all of you. I felt this while watching the clip, but the two PDs are really amazing. In the clip, they gave just a preview. While filming, there were many moments where I was curious as to how it would end. There are many plot twists, so please look forward to it.”

He continued, “The reason why I appeared on ‘Dunia’ after not doing variety shows for a while is because I said that I’ll be closer to the public in an interview, and this program isn’t a ‘made’ project but a ‘making’ project, so I decided to participate in it. The purpose of the show felt new, it could be relatable to viewers, and I could make good memories with the cast.”

When asked if his military experience was helpful in adapting to the virtual world, Yunho answered, “I asked Don Spike and used all of my knowledge from going to the military and what I learned in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and camp. But because I didn’t have any tools, I had to face most things with my passion.”

He also commented on being compared to Kim Byung Man‘s leadership of “Law of the Jungle.” Yunho replied, “I don’t think it was that we really needed a leader. Kim Byung Man has expert knowledge, but I don’t have that much knowledge about the jungle. I think the tough process will be viewed as realistic. It was more important to solve the problems as two, three, or more people instead of just by myself.”

DinDin said, “Yunho is someone who is the complete opposite of me. He took care of me a lot since we were together. He went into it passionately without any tools.” Yunho added, “There’s a fun story regarding an episode without any tools and clothes.”

Sam Ochyere commented, “He was a passionate leader. He was really full of passion.”

“Dunia” is a variety show about 10 members in a virtual “unreal variety” world. They’ll explore Dunia and live in a parallel universe of that game.

“Dunia” will premiere on June 3 at 6:45 p.m. KST.
