The latest results for the Wednesday-Thursday ratings battle are in!
Ratings research company Nielsen Korea released the results of broadcasts that aired July 5. MBC’s “Come and Hug Me” came in first amongst public broadcasting stations receiving 4.1 and 5.3 percent for episodes 23 and 24.
KBS2’s “Your House Helper” came in second with 3.2 and 4 percent for episodes 3 and 4. This is a slight drop from the 4.1 percent ratings the drama received for its premiere episodes.
Lastly, SBS’s “The Undateables” got 2.8 percent for episodes 23 and 24. This is a slight increase from the 2.4 percent ratings it got for episodes 21 and 22.
However, the success of tvN’s “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” stands in stark comparison as the cable channel continues to surpass its best viewership ratings. The July 5 episode received 8.4 percent which is a considerably higher number than its public broadcasting station counterparts. This isn’t the first time it’s happened and it doesn’t look like it will be the last. Traditionally, cable channel dramas have had lower ratings than those from public broadcasting stations, but it looks like the tide is turning!
