Watch: "2018 Idol Star Athletics Championships" Reveals First Sets Of Photos And Practice Video

MBC’s “2018 Idol Star Athletics Championships New Year Special” has released behind-the-scenes photos from the opening ceremony and bowling competition, as well as a video of idols practicing.

This season, participants competed in track and field, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, aerobics, and the newly-added category bowling. Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Apink’s Bomi, and Jun Hyun Moo were the MCs for the event with Park Myung Soo as the opening performer.

“2018 Idol Star Athletics Championships” will air on February 15 and 16, with the competition filmed last month.

Participating male idols in the main competition (not including bowling) include BTOB, VIXX, SEVENTEEN, NU’EST W, MONSTA X, ASTRO, Highlight, NCT 127, UP10TION, SNUPER, KNK, VICTON, IMFACT, ONF, The East Light, Romeo, Golden Child MVP, MXM, The Boyz, BLK, IN2IT, RAINZ, TopSecret, and MYTEEN.

Female participants include TWICE, Red Velvet, GFRIEND, Lovelyz, LABOUM, Oh My Girl, DIA, Cosmic Girls, gugudan, APRIL, PRISTIN, Weki Meki, DreamCatcher, CLC, MOMOLAND, Berry Good, Baby Boo, Favorite, H.U.B, Gate9, S.I.S, Busters, Hash Tag, Minseo, Kriesha Chu, Yuseol, ELRIS, and 1NB.

In addition to preview photos, MBC released a teaser of idols practicing for the “2018 Idol Star Athletic Championships.”

The clip showed members of TWICE, VIXX, Oh My Girl, GFRIEND, NU’EST W, and SEVENTEEN practicing archery, The Boyz and ASTRO rehearsing for aerobics, and Cosmic Girls’ Cheng Xiao and CLC’s Seungyeon training for their rhythmic gymnastics competition.

Bowling was the newest sport added to this year’s line-up. The bowling competition was filmed at a separate location on a different day. INFINITE’s Sunggyu and EXID’s Hani were the MCs for this event.

Male bowling competitors included members from EXO, Highlight, Wanna One, SEVENTEEN, MONSTA X, ASTRO, SNUPER, and KNK. Female bowling competitors included members from Apink, Red Velvet, GFRIEND, Lovelyz, 9MUSES, MAMAMOO, Weki Meki, and LABOUM.
