5 Things To Look Forward To In

SBS’s new drama “The Good Witch” kicks off tonight!

Ahead of the show’s premiere on March 3, here are five things to keep an eye out for:

1. Lee Da Hae taking on two roles at once

Leading lady Lee Da Hae will be playing two different roles in “The Good Witch,” with certain scenes even requiring her two characters to argue with one another!

The actress will be starring as both Cha Sun Hee, a kindhearted housewife who goes out of her way to help other people, and her sister Cha Do Hee, a flight attendant with a frosty personality.

The producers of the drama remarked, “It takes a lot of effort in numerous areas for one person to play two roles, but thanks to her unrivaled affection for the drama and her strong sense of responsibility, [Lee Da Hae] is pulling off both roles perfectly.”

2. A mysterious incident that forces the main character to lead a double life

Early on in the drama, a suspicious character attacks Cha Do Hee late at night, causing the flight attendant to fall into a deep sleep. In order to chase down the culprit, Cha Sun Hee embarks on a mission to pretend to be her sister and search for clues about the incident.

3. Ryu Soo Young playing an adorably awkward narcissist

In contrast to his warm, caring image, actor Ryu Soo Young will be playing the role of self-absorbed star pilot Song Woo Jin, a narcissist who thinks only of himself. Due to a traumatizing experience in the past, Song Woo Jin refuses to get involved with women and seems incapable of loving other people.

However, everything changes when he notices a dramatic change of personality in Cha Do Hee (who is, in actuality, Cha Sun Hee posing as her sister). Although Song Woo Jin outwardly appears cold and aloof, viewers can look forward to seeing the character’s awkward, blundering side when he finds himself falling in love.

4. An Woo Yeon’s lovably immature second lead

Actor An Woo Yeon will be taking on the role of Oh Tae Yang, the bubbly youngest son of the chairman of a large airline. The character also ends up becoming Song Woo Jin’s rival for Cha Do Hee’s affections.

Although Oh Tae Yang is something of a childish epicure, he gradually matures over the course of the drama as he learns about the cold, hard realities of life.

5. A star-studded cast and a veteran director

In addition to Lee Da Hae, Ryu Soo Young, and An Woo Yeon, the drama boasts an impressive cast that includes Shim Hyung Tak, Bae Soo Bin, Yoon Se Ah, AOA’s Hyejeong, LABOUM’s Solbin, Lee Deok Hwa, Geum Bo Ra, Yang Geum Seok, Moon Hee Kyung, Choi Joon Yong and Lee Han Seo.

“The Good Witch” is also helmed by Oh Se Kang, the director behind the hit drama “Temptation of Wife.”

The drama’s producers commented, “Although we live in a society that is no longer interested in the saying ‘If you live kindly, you’ll be blessed with good fortune,’ we still plan to tell a refreshing, vibrant story about the value of goodness, which we must not forget.”

“The Good Witch” premieres on March 3 at 8:55 p.m. KST. The drama will be available with English subtitles on Viki.
