Man Found Guilty Of Arranging Song Sun Mi's Husband's Murder Receives Final Sentence

The Supreme Court of South Korea has made its final ruling on the sentence of the man who contracted the murder of actress Song Sun Mi’s husband.

On December 15, media outlet Star News reported that the Supreme Court of South Korea had ruled to uphold the man’s life sentence in his third trial.

Earlier this year, the man (hereafter referred to as “A”), was found guilty of contracting the murder of Song Sun Mi’s husband, who was his cousin. A was not only charged with arranging his cousin’s murder during a conflict over their grandfather’s fortune, but he was also charged with forging documents and unlawfully withdrawing large sums of money.

In two separate trials held in April and September of this year, both the Seoul Central District Court and the Seoul High Court sentenced A to life imprisonment.

Although A went on to take the case to the Supreme Court for a third trial, he ultimately received a final sentence of life in prison on December 13.

Meanwhile, the man contracted to commit the murder was previously sentenced to 18 years in prison.
