Ahn Jae Wook Apologizes For Drunk Driving Incident

Actor Ahn Jae Wook has issued an official apology after being caught driving under the influence over the weekend.

On February 11, Jable Entertainment revealed that the actor’s license had been suspended after a drunk driving incident the day before.

A representative of the agency stated, “On the night of [February] 9, after a long day of work, Ahn Jae Wook went drinking with his colleagues at a restaurant near his lodgings. Even though he had plenty of rest after returning to his lodgings, he was caught for drunk driving while returning to Seoul on the morning of [February] 10, and his license was suspended.”

The representative went on to make a formal apology on behalf of the actor, remarking, “Ahn Jae Wook and our agency are taking full responsibility, with no room for excuses. We are unable to hide our feelings of apology for having given [others] cause for concern, and we feel extremely embarrassed and ashamed to have caused such an inexcusable scandal.”

Prior to the incident, Ahn Jae Wook had been preparing to star in an upcoming production of the musical “Hero,” which is scheduled to premiere in Seoul in March.

When asked whether he would be moving forward with the production, the agency representative replied, “In regard to his future activities, we will search for ways to minimize the damage to the many people who work with [Ahn Jae Wook], and we will discuss the matter as soon as possible. Once again, we bow our heads in deep apology.”
