Actor Baek Sung Hyun Revealed To Have Been Found Not Guilty In Aiding Drunk Driving + Received Punishment From Coast Guard

It has been belatedly revealed that actor Baek Sung Hyun was found not guilty by the police in aiding and abetting drunk driving.

Baek Sung Hyun began his mandatory military service on January 2, 2018 as part of the Korea Coast Guard. His service is scheduled to last for 23 months.

On October 10, 2018, his agency had to issue a response to reports that the actor had been involved in a drunk driving incident. Baek Sung Hyun had been out overnight with friends and he had been in the passenger seat when the driver, who was drunk, got into a car accident.

On May 30, 2019, a source from the Korea Coast Guard told OSEN, “Baek Sung Hyun, who was in the passenger seat during a drunk driving incident last October, was found not guilty by the police [of aiding and abetting drunk driving]. However, according to the rules of military service and the Coast Guard, he received special moral education and was forbidden from going out or sleeping out overnight for two months.”

After the drunk driving incident in October, Baek Sung Hyun submitted to a police investigation as well as the Coast Guard’s disciplinary committee. The police found him not guilty, but the Coast Guard recommended strict punishments when it came to drunk driving and aiding in drunk driving.
