Director Yeon Sang Ho will be debuting as a drama writer!

Yeon Sang Ho, who directed the hit movie “Train to Busan” that reached 10 million viewers, will be taking on a new challenge by extending his scope of experience to dramas.

On July 17, tvN shared, “Director Yeon Sang Ho will write the script for the new tvN drama ‘Method’ (working title). He will be participating in the drama not as a director but as a writer.”

“Method” refers to the “method” of a “methodist” who is forced to lose the flesh of a curse by a blameless fate. The main subject of this work is Forest, which has grown into the nation’s largest IT company, but there is an evil spirit hidden behind it. The only person who knows the truth is a girl and a journalist. The girl has superhuman skills, and the journalist will do whatever she can to destroy the evil spirit’s silent plan toward the human world with a strong sense of justice. It is said to be an occult thriller.

Yeon Sang Ho debuted in 1997 with the short film “Megalomania of D and won Best New Director at the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards for his film “Train to Busan.” The recent OCN drama “Save Me 2” was based on his animated film “The Fake,” and now, he will be participating in a drama himself to greet viewers of the small screen.

The format of “Method” is currently being discussed, and actress Uhm Ji Won is in talks to star as Im Jin Hee, the reporter in the drama.

Meanwhile, Yeon Sang Ho’s upcoming film “Peninsula,” the sequel for “Train to Busan,” recently began filming.
