Park Yeon Soo Clarifies Reports That Her Daughter Song Jia Received Casting Offer From JYP

Actress Park Yeon Soo (also known as Park Ip Sun) has responded to reports that her daughter, Song Jia, would be making her debut in the entertainment industry.

Song Jia is the daughter of Park Yeon Soo and former soccer player Song Jong Kook. She had previously appeared on TV in the MBC variety show “Dad! Where Are We Going?” and her mother kept fans of the show updated on her growth on social media. She has recently attracted attention for her resemblance to singer and actress Suzy.

Park Yeon Soo and Song Jia recently filmed a guest appearance on the show “Happy Together,” which will air on July 25. Before the episode could air, however, some of what Park Yeon Soo said on the show was revealed in advance. During the recording, Park Yeon Soo reportedly said that many entertainment agencies had contacted her after Song Jia did a photoshoot, including JYP Entertainment, who offered her a contract.

Song Jia also reportedly showed off her dance skills during the recording, dancing along to songs by Celeb Five, TWICE, and ITZY.

On July 24, Park Yeon Soo posted a photo of her daughter on Instagram and explained, “Her dream is to become a professional golf player. She is only going to focus on golf. To all the people who are leaving meaningless and malicious comments! I don’t want to write stuff like this, but when did I ever say I was making my daughter become a celebrity? So what if she does become a celebrity and so what if she doesn’t? She’s 12 years old – do you know how she’s going to change in the future? She has been in the public eye since she was young and has lived as a ‘half-celebrity.’ Do I now have to hide her away now in order to raise her properly? She is living a careful and quiet life and so I don’t want to hear it from people who say, ‘Oh, she’s dying to be a celebrity’ and that if she becomes famous, it’s because of her parents. Do you know what her life is like? There is nothing that comes easy to anyone. Isn’t her own hard work and character the most important thing?”

Song Jia was 7 years old (by Korean reckoning) when she first appeared on “Dad! Where Are We Going?” in 2013. She made an appearance last year on tvN’s “Leaving the Nest” with her younger brother, Song Ji Wook.
