Rain To Receive Award At 2019 U.S.-Asia Entertainment Summit & Game Changer Awards

Rain will be receiving an award at the U.S.-Asia Entertainment Summit & Game Changer Awards!

Asia Society Southern California (ASSC) will be holding its annual U.S.-Asia Entertainment Summit & Game Changer Awards on November 5 in Los Angeles. The Summit is a conference that promotes cooperation between significant figures in Hollywood and the Chinese entertainment industry. Filmmakers, content creators, and deal-makers leading the movie, music, digital content, and game industries across Asia will gather at the event. This year’s Summit will feature key personnel from various Asian countries, including South Korea, India, and Japan, as well as the U.S. local entertainment industry.

Rain will be receiving the “Entertainment Game Changer” award, and he is the first Korean to be named among the conference honorees. Other winners include Wei Zhang (president of Alibaba Pictures), Bob Weis (president of Walt Disney Imagineering), and Wang Leehom (singer-songwriter).

Powerful figures like Steven Xiang (CEO of Huanxi Media Group), Douglas Montgomery (vice president of Category Management at Warner Brothers), and Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch) were also invited to the summit.

Rain previously made his Hollywood debut through the 2008 film “Speed Racer,” and he later played the lead role in James McTeigue’s “Ninja Assassin.” He was able to win the “Biggest Badass” award at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards for his role as Raizo in “Ninja Assassin.”

Rain recently starred in MBC’s “Welcome 2 Life” as Lee Jae Sang, and he is currently searching for his comeback project.
