Kim Seo Hyung Talks About Life After "SKY Castle" And How She Prepared For Her Character

On January 15, actress Kim Seo Hyung appeared as a guest on Lee Dong Wook’s SBS variety show, “Because I Want to Talk.”

After she made her entrance, Lee Dong Wook asked how she has been doing after the end of the hugely popular drama “SKY Castle” early last year. She replied, “I’ve been going non-stop. I am as happy as I could be.”

She added that she likes to cook for the people around her and made Jang Do Yeon and Lee Dong Wook spaghetti aglio e olio. She said, “There was a time in my early 30s when I worked without rest. I didn’t eat properly and my chest got smaller.”

In “SKY Castle,” Kim Seo Hyung left a deep impression on viewers as the ruthless private tutor Kim Joo Young. The actress said, “We don’t act with the idea that we are going to be the talk of the town. From head to toe, I worked on all the little details that made up Kim Joo Young. The director suggested that Kim Joo Young should look strong, and I suggested how to do her hair and clothes. The fitting for the clothes took a long time. I even spent time thinking about the texture of the fabric.”

She also shared that she has refused to parody the character despite getting several commercial offers. “When I first read her lines in the script, I thought that I needed to construct her external character. I like when other people parody her, but I could not agree to the idea that I should parody her for a commercial. I refused many offers. I could have made a lot of money from those.”
