TV Schedule Changes This Week Due To Lunar New Year Programming

With the Lunar New Year approaching on January 25, broadcasting stations will be airing a variety of special programming in celebration of the holiday.

Here are the upcoming special programs and scheduling changes to watch out for:

Friday, January 24

Music Bank” will not be airing, and KBS2 will instead broadcast the Lunar New Year special variety show “Exit” about tone-deaf stars learning how to sing. KBS2 will also air a special episode of “Fun-staurant” in the usual time slot held by “Battle Trip.” SBS drama “Stove League” will not air and will be replaced by a broadcast of the film “Inseparable Bros.” On MBC, the first episode of the “2020 Idol Star Athletics Championships – New Year Special” will air at 5:50 p.m. KST. Pilot show “U Are the World” will air at 9:35 p.m. in place of “What is Study?”

Saturday, January 25

The second part of the “2020 Idol Star Athletics Championships – New Year Special” airs at 10:40 a.m. MBC’s “Music Core” will not be broadcast, and reruns of “The Game: Towards Zero” and a special episode of “I Live Alone” will air instead. Film “Take Point” will be broadcast in the usual time slot of the MBC drama “Never Twice.” Film “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil” will air in the “Stove League” time slot on SBS. tvN’s “Crash Landing on You” will not air a new episode and will instead broadcast a special episode including behind-the-scenes content.

Sunday, January 26

SBS will broadcast reruns of “Dr. Romantic 2” instead of “Inkigayo.” “Crash Landing on You” will be replaced with a broadcast of the film “Extreme Job.”

Monday, January 27

“2020 Idol Star Athletics Championships – New Year Special” airs its final episode at 5 p.m.
