Shin Min Ah, Lee Byung Hun, Yoo Jae Suk, And More Donate In Support Of Coronavirus Prevention

As the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in South Korea continues to rise, with over 900 confirmed cases as of February 25 at 9 p.m. KST, celebrities, citizens, and companies are donating in support of increased prevention efforts.

On February 25, Shin Min Ah’s agency revealed that the actress had donated 100 million won (about $82,300) to the Community Chest of Korea. They stated, “She donated in hopes that it will help medical professionals in their efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and also protect vulnerable social groups.”

On the same day, Lee Byung Hun’s agency confirmed that the actor had also donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea. They stated, “He understood the seriousness of preventing the spread of COVID-19 and decided to make a donation in hopes that it would give people strength.”

The Korea Disaster Relief Association revealed that Yoo Jae Suk had donated 100 million won on February 24. His donation will be used to purchase masks, hand sanitizers, and other items in the prevention effort.

It has been reported that Kim Jong Kook also donated 100 million won to the Korea Disaster Relief Association on February 25.

Singer Lee Seung Hwan shared on Instagram that he had donated 30 million won (about $24,700) to the Korea Disaster Relief Association. He wrote, “This is a hard time for everyone. We have always been people who put their hearts together and shared each other’s warmth in times like these. Stay strong, everyone, and thank you to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

Park Hae Jin, who is currently appearing in the KBS drama “Forest” as an emergency services worker, filmed a safety video about proper procedures in relation to COVID-19. The video was produced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the firefighting department. Park Hae Jin donated the entire cost of his appearance as well as the production costs.
