Lee Hyori Waives Entire Rent For Tenants This Month Amid Coronavirus Outbreak's Hit To Economy

Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in which many people and businesses are struggling financially, Lee Hyori has waived the rent on her building for this month.

On March 11, Xportsnews reported that a tenant in Lee Hyori’s building in the Hannam neighborhood of Seoul told them, “Last month, Lee Hyori told us that she won’t be taking rent for the month of March.”

They went on to say, “The economy is very poor lately because of COVID-19 and it’s a difficult time for many reasons, so I’m very grateful that Lee Hyori has waived our whole rent for a month.”

Lee Hyori bought the building last October, and it includes businesses such as a traditional Korean restaurant and seafood restaurant, as well as various offices.

Lately, several celebrity landlords have shown compassion for their tenants during the coronavirus outbreak by lowering the cost of rent or waiving it entirely, including Jun Ji Hyun, Rain and Kim Tae Hee, Won Bin and Lee Na Young, Seo Jang Hoon, Park Eun Hye, Hong Suk Chun, and more.
