Kim Go Eun And Kim Kyung Nam Have Each Other’s Back In “The King: Eternal Monarch”

SBS’s highly-anticipated drama “The King: Eternal Monarch” has released new teasers of Kim Go Eun and Kim Kyung Nam!

“The King: Eternal Monarch” is an upcoming drama written by Kim Eun Sook and starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun. It tells the story of two parallel worlds, one in which Korea is a constitutional monarchy, and one similar to present-day Korea. Lee Min Ho plays Emperor Lee Gon, who tries to close the door between the two worlds, and Kim Go Eun plays Detective Jung Tae Eul, who works with him to save people’s lives.

In the drama, Kim Kyung Nam plays the role of Detective Kang Shin Jae, one of Jung Tae Eul’s fellow officers in the police force. He pairs a sturdy, dependable feeling with a sharp gaze, making him the perfect partner for Jung Tae Eul, who has dreamed of being a police officer since she was a child.

The two characters have been close friends since high school. Both are quick to jump into action, as can be seen in one of the stills, which shows them fighting a group of assailants back-to-back. In other stills, although Jung Tae Eul only has eyes for her work, Kim Kyung Nam looks at his partner with a serious gaze.

Although Kim Go Eun and Kim Kyung Nam were shy around each other on set at first, they impressed the production staff with how quickly they jumped into their roles as tough and charismatic police officers.

“The King: Eternal Monarch” premieres on April 17 at 10 p.m. KST, after the end of “Hyena.”
