Yoo Seung Ho, Lee Se Young, And More Bid Farewell To “Memorist” With Closing Remarks
The cast of “Memorist” gave their final comments about the drama that aired its grand finale on April 30.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Memorist” tells the story of Dong Baek (Yoo Seung Ho), a detective with supernatural powers, and Han Sun Mi (Lee Se Young), an elite criminal profiler, who team up to track down a serial killer.
Yoo Seung Ho played Dong Baek, a detective with the ability to scan people’s memories. He commented, “I really enjoyed my time as Dong Baek. It seems like yesterday that the first broadcast aired, but time has passed so quickly. I’ve been working without a break for five months, and I think I was able to finish a good drama with everyone’s efforts.”
Yoo Seung Ho continued, “I do have regrets, but it’s my first time acting in such a genre, and it will last as a great memory for me. Thank you so much to everyone who has loved ‘Memorist’ and ‘Dong Baek.'”
Lee Se Young, who perfectly portrayed the genius profiler Han Sun Mi, shared, “I was happy to meet the wonderful Han Sun Mi. I also learned a lot from Han Sun Mi, who never lost her principle and silently carried out her job.” She promised to remember all the moments with the amazing cast and crew and thanked the viewers for watching the drama.
Jo Sung Ha played deputy chief Lee Shin Woong with a dark secret in his past. He said, “First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the viewers who have been with ‘Memorist’ since the beginning. Both the cast and crew worked hard to create a high-quality work in the middle of winter. That’s why filming ‘Memorist’ was always fun and happy. Also, I’m grateful that we were able to wrap it up in good health despite the coronavirus (COVID-19).”
Yoon Ji On, who faithfully portrayed a loyal detective named Oh Se Hoon, shared, “While playing Oh Se Hoon, I started to laugh more. It was partly because the character gave me energy, but I think it was all thanks to the ‘Memorist’ team. As the youngest member of the Dong Baek trio, I was happy to be able to work with other great actors.”
Then he said, “Thank you to everyone who helped me film with smiles. I was excited on the way to the set, and I felt sad on the way back home. Now, I’m starting to realize it’s over.”
Im Se Joo appeared as Lee Seul Bi, one of the members of the special investigation team. She said, “I was able to talk with good directors and senior actors and get advice from them, but I’m sad that it already ended. I’ll do my best to show you a better side of me in my next work. I hope you look forward to my growth and support me as I mature.”
In “Memorist,” Go Chang Suk played Koo Kyung Tan, one of Dong Baek’s reliable partners who was like a father figure to Dong Baek. He commented, “I’d like to thank all the viewers who loved ‘Memorist.’ My character Koo Kyung Tan was an attractive and cheerful person who did whatever he could to solve the case and always remained beside Yoo Seung Ho [Dong Baek]. I think the drama was loved even more because of the teamwork of the ‘Dong Baek Avengers’ amid mysterious and tense events. Thanks to my good colleagues, I had a great time filming.” He also thanked the crew members and asked the viewers to look forward to his next work.
Yoo Gun Woo, who played villainous prosecutor Woo Seok Do, thanked the cast, crew, and viewers as he said, “I think I showed you a lot of ugly sides through Woo Seok Do. I was criticized a lot, but I’ll be an actor who gets compliments for acting, and I’ll work harder in the future.”
Lastly, Jo Han Chul, who appeared as the mysterious psychopath Jin Jae Kyu, commented, “Every single day I played Jin Jae Kyu was filled with tension. That was because he was an unfamiliar character from the roles I had played so far.”
Then he praised Yoo Seung Ho and Lee Se Young, saying, “Yoo Seung Ho and Lee Se Young are real professionals. Thanks to their excellent teamwork as well as their acting, they were able to generate considerable synergy. Like veteran actors, they led the shoot with concentration in a short time.”
Jo Han Chul added, “‘Memorist’ is the result of the intense agony and effort of everyone who made the drama together. I sincerely express my respect to the crew who worked hard at the filming site. I am also very grateful to the viewers. Like it will do for me, I hope that ‘Memorist’ will remain in your memory for a long time.”
