Super Junior's Kyuhyun And Jo Se Ho Confirmed As MCs For New Home Cooking Show

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and comedian Jo Se Ho have been confirmed as MCs on a new cooking variety show!

Titled “Home Cook Live” (literal translation), the show will be the first cooking show in Korea to broadcast live on TV and online. It will air simultaneously on the TV channel Olive and on Olive’s YouTube channel.

The show is run in the format of a “cooking class,” where celebrity chefs appear on live broadcast every week to teach viewers how to make dishes. The key point of the show is that viewers can interact directly with the chefs via live broadcast. The MCs will facilitate this real-time discussion and field questions from viewers for the chefs.

Jo Se Ho said, “I have a lot of interest in cooking, so I was drawn to the idea of a cooking class. It’s a cooking show with a new vibe and I liked the idea of being able to communicate with viewers in real-time.”

Kyuhyun, who has shown his cooking skills on YouTube as well as the tvN variety show “Kang’s Kitchen 3,” said, “I really like cooking but my skills are average. I am looking forward to cooking with real chefs as my coaches.”

When asked about which recipes they wanted to learn about, both MCs picked Korean food. Jo Se Ho said, “I want to learn an easy recipe for marinating beef ribs.” Kyuhyun said, “I try making Korean food a lot at home, but it’s hard to get the right flavor. I really want to be properly taught.”

This is the first time that Jo Se Ho and Kyuhyun have worked together as MCs on a TV show. Jo Se Ho said, “I’ve always thought I’d like to work with him. I’m looking forward to this a lot.”

Producing director (PD) Shin Sang Ho stated, “‘Home Cook Live’ is a program that aims to teach people of all levels of skill how to make chef-level dishes. In these times, we need an event that you can do at home. Instead of a simple cooking show, we want it to be a daily event in which people can spend an hour laughing together and tasting good food. We have decided to broadcast the show at 5:30 p.m. so that people can naturally move to having dinner afterward. Please spend your evenings with ‘Home Cook Live.'”

“Home Cook Live” premieres on June 20 at 5:30 p.m. KST on Olive TV and Olive’s YouTube channel.
