SBS’s “Backstreet Rookie” hit a new all-time high as OCN’s “Train” got off to a solid start!

On July 11, Yoon Shi Yoon’s new parallel-universe drama “Train” aired its suspenseful premiere. The ambitious sci-fi thriller tells the story of a single choice made on the night of a murder that splits the world into two drastically different alternate universes, with each of its lead actors taking on dual roles.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Train” scored an average viewership rating of 1.4 percent nationwide. Although it fell short of the ratings achieved by the finale of “Team Bulldog: Off-Duty Investigation,” the drama that previously occupied its time slot, “Train” achieved relatively similar results to its predecessor’s premiere.

Meanwhile, “Backstreet Rookie” achieved its highest viewership ratings to date. The latest episode of the romantic comedy scored average nationwide ratings of 5.5 percent and 8.7 percent for its two parts, marking a new personal record for the drama.

JTBC’s new mystery drama “Graceful Friends” saw a decline in viewership for its second episode, scoring an average nationwide rating of 2.7 percent for the evening.

In contrast, tvN’s “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” remained relatively steady, scoring an average nationwide rating of 5.6 percent and a peak of 5.8 percent for the night. TV Chosun’s “King Maker: The Change of Destiny” also scored an average nationwide rating of 5.6 percent for its latest episode.

Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Once Again” remained the most-watched drama of Saturday nights with average nationwide ratings of 24.6 percent and 29.6 percent for its two parts.
