The cast of SBS’s “Master in the House” hit viewers with an exciting blast from the past by putting on a spectacular music show!

On the July 19 episode of the variety show, the cast members continued their journey under the tutelage of Lee Jung Hyun, their latest master. After wowing the cast with her cooking skills, the singer and actress instructed the members to split up into teams of two and prepare a performance of a hit song from the turn of the millennium.

To everyone’s surprise, including Kim Dong Hyun himself, Lee Jung Hyun chose the UFC fighter as her partner for the competition. When Kim Dong Hyun asked why she had picked him, she replied cryptically, “I have my reasons.”

ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo and comedian Yang Se Hyung were the first team to perform, and they prepared a powerful cover of CLON’s 2000 hit “First Love.” Halfway through the song, CLON member DJ KOO shocked the other cast members by making a surprise appearance, joining Cha Eun Woo and Yang Se Hyung on stage for their performance.

Next up was Lee Seung Gi and Shin Sung Rok, who had struggled to reconcile their differing opinions when choosing a song. In the end, they decided to each perform a separate song: Shin Sung Rok sang Yoon Do Hyun’s 1999 ballad “After Letting You Go,” while Lee Seung Gi performed rocker Kim Kyung Ho’s 1997 hit “Forbidden Love.”

Finally, Lee Jung Hyun took the stage to perform her legendary 1999 song “Change,” and the mesmerized cast members commented that her skills hadn’t changed at all in the 20 years since the song’s release. She then wrapped up the show with a fun performance of her 2000 hit “Give Me (Joolae),” in which she and Kim Dong Hyun both transformed into dolls.

The star’s reason for choosing Kim Dong Hyun also became clear: the fighter put his strength to good use at the beginning of the performance, when he entered the stage while impressively carrying Lee Jung Hyun like a doll.
