Update: BTS Secures 4 Nominations For 2020 MTV VMAs + BTS, BLACKPINK, And MONSTA X Nominated For Best Group

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards has now announced its Best Group award nominees!

BTS, BLACKPINK, and MONSTA X are nominated for the award alongside 5 Seconds of Summer, The 1975, Chloe x Halle, CNCO, Little Mix, Now United, and Twenty One Pilots.

BTS won the Best Group award at the ceremony last year.

July 30, MTV revealed the nominees for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Best K-Pop category, which was added to ceremony last year, includes (G)I-DLE’s “Oh My God,” BTS’s “ON,” EXO’s “Obsession,” MONSTA X’s “Someone’s Someone,” TXT’s “9 and Three Quarters (Run Away),” and Red Velvet’s “Psycho.”

BTS has also been nominated for Best Pop and Best Choreography with “ON,” for a total of three nominations.

Other nominees for Best Pop include Halsey’s “You Should Be Sad,” Jonas Brothers’ “What a Man Gotta Do,” Justin Bieber’s “Intentions” featuring Quavo, Lady Gaga’s “Rain On Me” with Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift’s “Lover.”

Nominees for Best Choreography have gone to CNCO & Natti Natasha’s “Honey Boo,” DaBaby’s “Bop,” Dua Lipa’s “Physical,” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me,” and Normani’s “Motivation.”

Voting has begun on MTV’s website for 15 categories, and the ceremony will be held live on Sunday, August 30.

Previously, at last year’s Video Music Awards, BTS became the first recipient for Best Group and Best K-Pop, both newly created categories at the time.
