Watch: BLACKPINK Talks About Disguises For Going Out In Public And More + Performs

BLACKPINK appeared as guests on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

On October 20, BLACKPINK starred on the popular American late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” as the first K-pop girl group to do so. Through a live video chat, the group talked about their fans and their latest release “THE ALBUM.”

During the interview, Jimmy Kimmel talked about the group’s fame and whether it was difficult for them to step outside in public. Rosé and Jennie explained that as long as they were well-covered and disguised, it wouldn’t be a problem going outside. Jennie added, “It’s a big secret, but we do wear hats and hoodies to cover up.”

Rosé explained that they chose the name BLACKPINK because the two colors represent the group the best. She mentioned their song “Pretty Savage” and shared, “We’re very girly, but at the same time, we’re very savage too.” Furthermore, when asked about her favorite English phrase, Jisoo picked, “It’s a pity.”

The members also talked about attending a school for arts and performances. Rosé commented that although she was initially excited to forgo regular subjects, she later thought it would have been nice to have learned those subjects as well. She added they had to learn many languages instead such as Korean, Japanese, English, and Chinese.

On performing at Coachella, Jennie talked about how they enjoyed watching Coachella performances when they were trainees. Lisa mentioned that she was also very excited to see Jaden Smith and was surprised to see his father Will Smith rap on stage. Finally, Jennie talked about how excited the group was to hear that they would be collaborating with Cardi B for their new album.
