Stray Kids, The Boyz, TXT, IU, Red Velvet, MAMAMOO, And More Certified Platinum By Gaon

Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official platinum certifications!

In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.

On November 12, Gaon Chart announced that The Boyz’s latest mini album “Chase,” Stray Kids’ repackaged album “IN生” (“IN LIFE”), and TXT’s debut mini album “The Dream Chapter: STAR” had all received official platinum certifications after selling over 250,000 copies each. Trot singer Kim Ho Joong also received a double platinum certification after selling over 500,000 copies of his album “Our Family.”

In the streaming category, IU’s “eight” (produced by and featuring BTSSuga), Red Velvet’s “Psycho,” and MAMAMOO’s “HIP” were all certified platinum after surpassing 100 million streams each.

Finally, Jung Seung Hwan’s “The Snowman” received a platinum certification in the download category after reaching 2.5 million downloads.
