Spoilers

1. Episode 15: Cheon Seo Jin descends into madness

The ending to episode 15 left a big impression on viewers. Kim So Yeon’s character Cheon Seo Jin exploded with sorrow and resentment when her father (played by Jung Sung Mo) announced he would not be appointing her as the next director, after learning about her affair and divorce. She got in a scuffle with her father while trying to take away the document that would appoint the upcoming director, and when he tumbled down the stairs in shock, Cheon Seo Jin just grabbed the document and ran.

Later, Cheon Seo Jin played the piano with blood on her hands and said, “You’re the one who made me this way, father. Don’t feel too wronged. Since you at least gave me something before you left.” Her chilling smile, tinged with madness, drew viewers further into the story as the episode came to a close.

2. Episode 16: Oh Yoon Hee finds out the shocking truth

The surprising ending of episode 16 included Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) recalling a memory of murdering Min Seol Ah (Jo Soo Min) before Shim Soo Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah) revealed to Oh Yoon Hee that she is Min Seol Ah’s real mother.

As Oh Yoon Hee looked at the balcony railing of the 47th floor, she remembered saying to herself after pushing Min Seol Ah off the railing, “Ro Na can be accepted if you’re not here.”

Shim Soo Ryeon then appeared and confessed to having tricked Oh Yoon Hee all this time, shocking Oh Yoon Hee. The scene made viewers curious about how the relationship between the two women would change.

3. Episode 17: Shim Soo Ryeon makes a narrow escape

Episode 17 ended with a frightening scene in which Shim Soo Ryeon got in a physical fight with Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon) that ended with Shim Soo Ryeon striking him in the head with a decoration.

Joo Dan Tae had been furious when Joo Hye In (Na So Ye) appeared because he’d thought she was dead and her being alive ruined his plans to invest with the land that’s in her name as collateral. When Joo Dan Tae demanded to know where Joo Hye In was, Shim Soo Ryeon yelled at him, “You’re not even human. You’re a murderer.”

Joo Dan Tae then choked her, but Shim Soo Ryeon managed to grab a decoration that she used to strike him in the head, knocking him out.

“The Penthouse” production team stated, “As the ending scenes in ‘The Penthouse’ feature a moment of explosive development in each character’s story and emotions, and are also a main key to what happens next, we’re paying much attention to them in each episode.” They shared that the next episode would also contain another legendary ending to surpass those before it.
