Watch: Lee Ji Ah And Eugene Pretend To Have A Shocking Reunion In Funny "The Penthouse" Making-Of Video

“The Penthouse” shared a behind-the-scenes video from its final filming for season one!

The hit show is set in a 100-floor luxury penthouse apartment and centers around three women: the “queen” of the penthouse Shim Soo Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah), the “prima donna” Cheon Seo Jin (Kim So Yeon) who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) who will do anything it takes to get into the world of high society. It ended its first season on January 5, but it was recently confirmed that the show is coming back with two more seasons.

The newly released making-of video begins with Uhm Ki Joon in character as Joo Dan Tae, the husband of Shim Soo Ryeon. Ahead of the scene of his arrest, Uhm Ki Joon checks if the handcuffs are genuine. After the police drag out Joo Dan Tae, the actors smile and laugh together. Park Eun Suk joins to rehearse and film the scene where he reveals to Joo Dan Tae that Logan Lee and Goo Ho Dong were one and the same person, and he laughs as he has to keep going up and down the escalator to retrieve his wig from Uhm Ki Joon when they restart the scene.

Kim So Yeon films a music lesson scene and then moves on to shoot the moment in which she’s horrified to see her father in the window, pulling off a great shocked expression and making herself laugh.

While on set for the scene where Joo Dan Tae stabs Shim Soo Ryeon, Eugene tells Uhm Ki Joon, “I think you’re going to be the enemy of the nation once this scene airs. You should prepare yourself.” Uhm Ki Joon laughs and replies, “It’s okay, I’m prepared. I won’t leave my house.” Uhm Ki Joon and Lee Ji Ah then work hard to perfect the attack scene, and Eugene joins them to film the moment in which she holds Lee Ji Ah and sobs.

Uhm Ki Joon and Lee Ji Ah talk with their onscreen children Kim Young Dae and Han Ji Hyun about the filming of the scene in which the kids find out about what’s happened to Shim Soo Ryeon. Kim Young Dae and Han Ji Hyun discuss how they think they’ll act upset and potentially cry, and Han Ji Hyun says that she’d cried hard during filming earlier that day. Lee Ji Ah teases her that it’s important to treat a person well when they’re around, making Han Ji Hyun laugh.

While they prepare for filming, Lee Ji Ah walks around the set and realizes she’s been caught on camera. “The mother’s ghost keeps wandering around,” she says. She later laughs quietly from the other side of the set as she watches her onscreen family act out the dramatic scene.

In another take, Eugene is being walked off by the police and she sticks out her tongue at the making-of camera once she’s out of the shot of the main camera. She then reunites with Lee Ji Ah who was hiding around the corner, and they both laugh as Eugene pretends to be shocked to find Lee Ji Ah’s been there all along and Lee Ji Ah pretends to be a ghost.
