Watch: IZ*ONE's An Yu Jin, TREASURE's Jihoon, And NCT's Sungchan Share Thoughts On Becoming The New "Inkigayo" MCs

“Inkigayo” shared fun videos featuring the program’s new MCs introducing themselves!

The SBS music show’s previous MCs MONSTA X‘s Minhyuk, APRIL‘s Naeun, and NCT‘s Jaehyun stepped down from their positions at the end of February.

IZ*ONE’s An Yu Jin, TREASURE’s Jihoon, and NCT’s Sungchan will now be taking over as the MCs! On March 4, SBS released videos of each of the hosts being interviewed about their new position, giving them only five seconds to answer each question.

When asked to describe himself in three keywords, Sungchan said, “I’m cheerful, gentle, and positive!” Re-enacting how he responded when he found out that he’d be an MC for “Inkigayo,” Sungchan pointed at himself in surprise and said “Me?”

On why he should be an MC for the show, Sungchan said, “Because I have the passion of a rookie.” A song that Sungchan listens to lately is EXO member Kai’s “Mmmh.” He commented, “It’s a song that conveys Kai’s sexy charisma.”

When asked to say something to the fellow MCs he’ll be working with, Sungchan said, “Please take good care of me. I’ll work hard.” Finally, Sungchan said, “This is my first time as an MC, but I’ll work hard so that I can do well.”

In the next video, Jihoon described himself as “positive, happy, and cute.” He shared with a laugh that his reaction to finding out he’d be an MC for the show was to say, “Oh, really?!”

The TREASURE member said that the reason why he should be an MC for the show is that it’s something he’s been hoping for. With a smile, he shared that he’s been listening to TREASURE’s “MY TREASURE” lately.

His message to his fellow MCs was, “Please take good care of me. Thank you.” He also said, “I will do my best. I will work hard.”

Lastly, Jihoon shared, “I really want to say that I’m grateful that you’ve made me an MC for ‘Inkigayo.’ I’ve always thought that I’d like to be an MC, so with this great opportunity I’ll work hard and with sincerity.” He shared with a laugh, “I met the two people who will be MCs with me for the first time today. We’re still very awkward and so I’m a bit worried, but let’s do our best!”

An Yu Jin described herself by saying, “I’m very cheerful, healthy, and happy.” She also said that her first reaction to hearing the news that she’d be an MC was to check if they really meant her. “I was so happy,” she said.

About why she should be an “Inkigayo” MC, An Yu Jin said, “I really love ‘Inkigayo.’ I think that I could happily do a good job.” A song that she listens to lately is IZ*ONE’s “Panorama.”

To her fellow MCs, she said, “I’m going to work hard as the youngest MC, so please take good care of me.” Finally, she commented, “I’ve become a new MC for ‘Inkigayo.’ I’m so nervous and so happy too. I’ll work hard to make your Sundays fun.”
