Watch: Hyeri, Jang Ki Yong, Kang Han Na, And More Attend Script Reading For Upcoming Fantasy Drama

tvN has released a behind-the-scenes video from the script reading of their upcoming drama “My Roommate Is a Gumiho!”

Based on a webtoon, “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” is about a 22-year-old college student named Lee Dam (Girl’s Day’s Hyeri), who accidentally swallows the marble of a 999-year-old male gumiho (a mythological nine-tailed fox) named Shin Woo Yeo (Jang Ki Yong), who was close to achieving his goal of becoming human. If a human swallows the marble, they can only live for one year, and the marble will break, preventing the gumiho from becoming human. As a result, Shin Woo Yeo suggests that the two live together, beginning their unexpected romance.

At the script reading were director Nam Sung Woo (“Kkondae Intern,” “Kill It,” “100 Days My Prince“) and writers Baek Sun Woo and Choi Bo Rim (“What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “Touch Your Heart,” “Drinking Solo“). There were also cast members Jang Ki Yong, Hyeri, Kang Han Na, Kim Do Wan, Bae In Hyuk, and Park Kyung Hye.

Jang Ki Yong said, “My character is a 999-year-old gumiho named Shin Woo Yeo. He seems cold and aloof on the outside, but he is quite warm and affectionate toward Lee Dam. At the script reading, the actor shows off his attractive deep voice as his fastidious habits clashes with the unpredictable Lee Dam and her casual college student life.

Hyeri said, “My character, Lee Dam, was born in 1999. She’s a college student who isn’t afraid to speak her mind.” In the script reading, Lee Dam bulldozes ahead and speaks her mind even when she runs into a mythological gumiho and ends up swallowing the marble that could end her life.

Kang Han Na said, “I play the character Yang Hye Sun. She is Shin Woo Yeo’s only female gumiho friend. She seems very flamboyant and cool on the outside, but she’s really a lovable character with a klutzy side.” In the script reading, Yang Hye Sun flaunts her human status in front of Shin Woo Yeo, as she achieved human status first even though she was 200 years younger than him as a gumiho.

Kim Do Wan plays Do Jae Jin, a fool in love who has a long history of being dumped. He develops a relationship with Yang Hye Sun. Bae In Hyuk plays Gye Sun Woo, Lee Dam’s college senior, who is extremely popular with women. However, he gets the shock of his life when Lee Dam turns him down. Park Kyung Hye plays Choi Soo Kyung, Lee Dam’s best friend, who confidently introduces herself as “the Kim Tae Hee of Seo Gwa University.”
