Watch: "The Penthouse 2" Star Kim Young Dae Impresses With His Piano Skills In Behind-The-Scenes Video

SBS’s “The Penthouse 2” has shared a glimpse of Kim Young Dae showing off his impressive piano skills behind the scenes!

In a newly released behind-the-scenes video, Kim Young Dae—who plays star piano student Joo Seok Hoon in the hit drama—wows the production crew with his musical talent. At the beginning of the clip, the actor is preparing to film the scene in Episode 7 where Joo Seok Hoon plays the piano while thinking of Bae Ro Na (played by Kim Hyun Soo) when someone off-camera prompts him, “Play us something, any piece you’re good at.”

“Something I’m good at?” echoes Kim Young Dae, before sitting down at the piano and beginning to play. Later, after several staff members gather to watch him play the piano from memory, he remarks shyly, “I forgot everything.”

When someone asks him if he’s played the piano for a long time, he replies, “I did play for a long time, but when I stopped playing for a while, I forgot everything.” He later elaborates, “I learned to play when I was young, and I played continuously for many years, but I never played again after middle school. That’s why I forgot everything. I’m trying to remember what I played when I was young.”

Later, Kim Young Dae turns to the camera to playfully show off the sheet music prop with Bae Ro Na’s name on it, joking, “Where is she? I can’t seem to get ahold of her.”

Finally, the video ends with the unedited footage of Kim Young Dae playing the piano for his scene in Episode 7, with the producers explaining in the captions, “Revealing Seok Hoon’s piano skills for the first time! He was so good that we’re just going to go ahead and release the full version…”
