Main Vocalist Of Up-And-Coming Girl Group Shares Her Big Dreams On "The King Of Mask Singer"
On the June 20 episode of MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer,” the quest to dethrone the reigning champion, Emerald of May, continued.

The second match-up of Round 2 was between Situ and Drawing Lots. Situ sang BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s “SOLO” and caught the attention of the panelists with her unique vocal tone.
Drawing Lots sang AKMU’s “How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I love” and showed both emotional and vocal range.
With just one vote difference, Situ advanced to Round 3 and Drawing Lots unmasked to reveal herself as Monday, the main vocalist of the talented young girl group Weeekly. Sandara Park expressed her regret that she was eliminated and said, “I’ve seen her twice already on other shows,” and MC Kim Sung Joo said, “I was so surprised that the voice that awakened our emotional senses belonged to a 20-year-old.” (Monday was born in 2002, making her 20 in Korean age.)
Monday said, “I’m really nervous right now because it’s been my dream to appear on ‘The King of Mask Singer’ even before I became a trainee.” Despite her nervousness, she shared that she had had big ambitions for her appearance. “As my goal, I said that I wanted to be the youngest-ever champion on ‘The King of Mask Singer,'” she said. “And the longest-running champion as well. I’m sorry!”
She added, “My biggest goal was taking this chance to let people know that there’s someone who can sing like this even in a rookie girl group. The other Weeekly members are also really talented.”
Yoo Young Suk praised, “There are a lot of young artists who are very talented, but I can feel a special hope for this one. It’s amazing how she doesn’t lean one way or the other and can both sing and dance. Like her name, Monday’s voice is the kind that banishes your Monday blues.”
Monday had previously sang BoA’s “Valenti” in Round 1 last week.
In the end, Situ and Sorikkun battled it out in Round 3 and Sorikkun advanced to the final round. Although Emerald of May gave a fine performance to defend her crown, Sorikkun ended up becoming the new champion with 21 votes to 16, and Emerald of May was unmasked as the singer Yumi.
