The first match-up of Round 1 was between MSG and MBTI, who sang a duet of 4MEN’s “I Can’t.” Both singers showed off their sweet and mellifluous voices, but MSG advanced to Round 2 with 15 votes to 6.

MBTI took off her mask while singing Chungha’s “Why Don’t You Know” to reveal herself as IZ*ONE’s Choi Ye Na.

Choi Ye Na shared, “This is my first time singing an entire song by myself. I was really nervous and really wanted to do well, so I ended up losing my voice a little. But it’s still an honor to be able to stand on the stage of ‘The King of Mask Singer.'”

Choi Ye Na is the fourth member of IZ*ONE to appear on “The King of Mask Singer.” She said, “I saw Chae Won’s appearance and it was so cute and healing. I came on the show because I wanted to share that feeling of healing too.” The rapper and vocalist added that she had particularly hoped to get Sandara Park’s vote, which she did.

She explained, “I first got into K-pop watching Lee Hyori when I was five and started to dream about being an idol through watching 2NE1. I watched 2NE1’s videos and thought, ‘I want to be like them,’ so it’s an honor to be able to get Sandara Park’s vote.”

Asked about her future plans, Choi Ye Na said, “I want to try a lot of diverse things this year. From dancing to singing to going on TV, I’m going to work hard at it all, so please watch over me.”

On Twitter, she wrote, “Everyone! I appeared on ‘The King of Mask Singer’! I was really nervous so I have a lot of regrets, but it was a really fun and meaningful experience! I will show a better side of myself in future, so please look forward to it.”
