Girl's Day's Minah And Kwon Hwa Woon Are Exes Pretending To Be A Couple For A Free Trip In New Romance Drama

MBC’s upcoming drama “Check Out the Event” has unveiled its main poster!

“Check Out the Event” is a new romance drama about two ex-lovers who win a couples trip in a lottery that they entered before breaking up. In order to go on the trip, they pretend to still be together as they travel to Jeju Island with several other couples.

Girl’s Day’s Minah will star in the drama as Ha Song Yi, a coordinator at a botanical garden who goes through a rough patch after breaking up with her longtime boyfriend, while Kwon Hwa Woon will star as her ex Park Do Kyum, the secretly soft-hearted leader and vocalist of an indie band.

In the newly released poster, Ha Song Yi and Park Do Kyum hold hands and smile for the camera as if posing for a photo to remember their Jeju Island trip by. Despite the romantic scenery and their cheerful smiles, the distance between the couple—and their slightly awkward expressions—hint at the charade that they’re keeping up for the sake of their free vacation.

The producers of “Check Out the Event” remarked, “We hope that you’ll feel like you’re taking off on a trip to Jeju Island together with [the characters] every Saturday night for four weeks.”

Praising the two leads’ acting, they went on, “Bang Minah and Kwon Hwa Woon are so perfectly in tune with their characters that you could even call them Ha Song Yi and Park Do Kyum themselves. The two also have such perfect chemistry that we couldn’t possibly ask for more.”

The producers also teased, “Song Yi and Do Kyum’s love story will not only make viewers’ hearts flutter, but will also be realistically relatable.”
