Kim Sejeong Confirmed To Join Ahn Hyo Seop In Upcoming Rom-Com Based On Webtoon

Kim Sejeong and Ahn Hyo Seop are starring in a drama together!

On August 2, Kakao Entertainment revealed that Kim Sejeong is confirmed to star as the wacky and optimistic Shin Ha Ri in SBS’s “A Business Proposal” (working title), a drama slated to air in the first half of 2022.

“A Business Proposal” is a romantic comedy about an office employee who goes on a blind date with her company’s CEO in place of a friend while hiding her identity. The story was first published by author Hae Hwa as a web novel in 2017 and produced into a webtoon in 2018. In August 2020, KakaoPage announced that they would be adapting the web novel and webtoon into a drama.

Ahn Hyo Seop has been confirmed to play the perfect third generation chaebol Kang Tae Mu. Together, Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Sejeong will be showcasing a sweet and dangerous office romance.

Kim Sejeong’s character Shin Ha Ri is second to none when it comes to optimism and energy, though her presence is often overpowered by her beautiful mother and brother at home and her chaebol friend at school. When all she wants is to be an ordinary office worker, she goes on a blind date in place of her chaebol friend with the goal of being turned down, only to find that her CEO is her date. While playing the role, Kim Sejeong will go back and forth between the fake “sexy femme fatale” persona Shin Ha Ri created to conceal her identity and Shin Ha Ri’s quirky and energetic real self.

The singer-actress revealed, “I really enjoyed reading the script, and I felt confident that I’d be able to have fun working with the writer, director, and fellow actors. I’m very nervous because I’m a rom-com rookie who’s never been in an actual romantic comedy before, but I’m working hard to prepare everything from my appearance to my acting, so please anticipate it a lot.”

The drama will be directed by Park Sun Ho of “Wok of Love” and “Suspicious Partner” and produced by Kross Pictures.
