Kim Dong Wook, Kim Sung Kyu, And Chae Jung An Cast In Thriller Drama Based On Award-Winning Animated Film

Kim Dong Wook, Kim Sung Kyu, and Chae Jung An are confirmed to star in the upcoming TVing original drama “The King of Pigs”!

“The King of Pigs” is a thriller that follows the people who recall their experiences as victims of violence due to the mysterious serial killings that begin when they receive a message from a friend from 20 years ago. Through these characters with tragic fates, the drama touches on the origin of school violence and the violence that pervades modern society.

The drama is based on director Yeon Sang Ho’s animated film of the same name that has already been acknowledged for its cinematic quality at various film festivals.

Kim Dong Wook, who boasts a rich filmography of various genres, will play the role of Hwang Kyung Min, who lives with the trauma of the school violence he experienced 20 years ago. He lives a happy life with his wife until an unexpected event causes his trauma to resurface. Kim Dong Wook is currently starring in tvN’s “You Are My Spring.”

Kim Sung Kyu will take on the role of detective Jung Jong Suk who traces the mysterious message sent by the friend from 20 years ago. The strange incident also causes him to recall the school violence he experienced 20 years ago, and he does his best to stop any further murders from taking place. Kim Sung Kyu has impressed with his presence in “The Outlaws” “Kingdom,” and “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil,” raising expectations for his acting in “The King of Pigs.”

Last but not least, Chae Jung An will play the charismatic detective Kang Jin Ah, a tenacious woman of principle who will stop at nothing to solve a case. Her arbitrary method of carrying out investigations has earned her the resentment of her teammates, but she is someone who always holds her ground no matter what. She and Jung Jong Suk were both students at the Police University, and she was his upperclassman. Chae Jung An has mostly recently starred in JTBC’s “Monthly Magazine Home.”

The drama’s production team shared, “Through ‘The King of Pigs,’ we plan to look back at the origin of the violence that pervades our society. Being joined by such special actors, we already have a good feeling about the project. We will create a drama that induces the thrill that a thriller should righteously provide, so please watch it with keen interest and love.”

Now that the drama has finalized its cast lineup, filming will begin this month.
