3 Different Relationships Shin Min Ah Built With The Villagers Of Gongjin In

Shin Min Ah has quickly adapted to her new life in Gongjin!

A remake of the film “Mr. Hong,” “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is a romance drama starring Shin Min Ah as Yoon Hye Jin, a dentist who moves from Seoul to the seaside village of Gongjin, and Kim Seon Ho as Hong Doo Shik, an odd-job expert who helps everyone around town.

In addition to her chemistry with Kim Seon Ho, Shin Min Ah has shown different types of chemistry with Kim Young Ok, Lee Bong Ryun, Cha Chung Hwa, and the child actors. Although Yoon Hye Jin wasn’t initially well-liked by the village people, they’ve all quickly come around and fallen for her charm after gradually realizing how warmhearted she is on the inside.

Below are some of the notable relationships Yoon Hye Jin has built at Gongjin!

Spoilers

Yoon Hye Jin & Kim Gam Ri

When Yoon Hye Jin first arrived to Gongjin, all the village people thought she was a Seoulite. However, Kim Gam Ri (Kim Young Ok) soon noticed her warm heart, and she became one of the greatest supporters of Hong Doo Shik and Yoon Hye Jin in their process of opening up to one another and getting to know each other.

Initially, when Kim Gam Ri had visited the dentist, she had pushed back her treatment because of the expensive costs. Seeing Kim Gam Ri reminded Yoon Hye Jin of her sick mother, causing her to speak coldly. This lead to Kim Gam Ri to have a bad impression of Yoon Hye Jin. However, Yoon Hye Jin also felt sorry and visited Kim Gam Ri, who treated her to a warm bowl of gamja-ongsimi (potato dough soup). Yoon Hye Jin told Kim Gam Ri not to worry about the costs, stating, “I’ll help you be able to eat all the squid you want, which you like so much.” Through her words, Kim Gam Ri realized Yoon Hye Jin’s true feelings.

After learning about Yoon Hye Jin’s kindness, Kim Gam Ri continued to care for the dentist, telling Hong Doo Shik about a sexual assaulter at Yoon Hye Jin’s office and feeding Yoon Hye Jin Cheongsimhwan (relaxing pills) after she faced an assailant. The incident showed how Yoon Hye Jin had also opened up her heart completely to the village people. Finally, Kim Gam Ri also acted as a key figure in getting Yoon Hye Jin and Hong Doo Shik together by giving Hong Doo Shik heartfelt advice.

Yoon Hye Jin & Yeo Hwa Jung & Jo Nam Sook

Another interesting combination to look out for in the drama is the chemistry between Yoon Hye Jin and Yeo Hwa Jung (Lee Bong Ryun) and Jo Nam Soo (Cha Chung Hwa). Yoon Hye Jin coincidentally met Yeo Hwa Jung’s son Jang Yi Joon (Ki Eun Yoo), who was crying after losing his tooth. As thanks for taking care of her son, Yeo Hwa Jung offered her sea urchin seaweed soup on the day that also happened to be her late mother’s birthday. In episode 14, Yoon Hye Jin ran into Yeo Hwa Jung after being hurt by Hong Doo Shik and cried in front of her. Yeo Hwa Jung once again offered her warm seaweed soup and comforted her by saying, “Something that’s easy to say for someone can also be difficult for someone else.” Yeo Hwa Jung took on the role of an older sister to Yoon Hye Jin.

On the other hand, Yoon Hye Jin has a completely different kind of relationship with Jo Nam Sook, who was the first to spread news of Yoon Hye Jin’s relationship with Hong Doo Shik and Ji Sung Hyun (Lee Sang Yi) in a group chat. Because of that, Yoon Hye Jin and Jo Nam Sook’s relationship didn’t have a great start. However, their relationship changed as Yoon Hye Jin helped Jo Nam Sook avoid a voice phishing scam. Later, Yoon Hye Jin learned about Jo Nam Sook losing her daughter and expressed her feelings sincerely to Jo Nam Sook, allowing Jo Nam Sook to also reciprocate with gratitude.

Yoon Hye Jin and Gongjin’s kids

During Yoon Hye Jin’s first meeting with Oh Choon Jae’s (Jo Han Chul’s) daughter Oh Ju Ri (Kim Min Seo), Oh Ju Ri had called Yoon Hye Jin’s handbag fake and didn’t believe that DOS’s Jun (Sung Tae) had been one of her patients. However, Oh Ju Ri’s attitude changed completely after seeing picture proof, and the two became close. With the help of Yoon Hye Jin and Hong Doo Shik, Oh Ju Ri even placed second at a competition despite hurting her ankle, and Yoon Hye Jin contacted Oh Ju Ri right away after eating dinner with Jun.

Furthermore, Yoon Hye Jin was the first to realize Oh Ju Ri’s dream of being a stylist and to support her, understanding her feelings better than anyone else. This side of Yoon Hye Jin also allowed her to connect with Jang Yi Joon and Choi Bo Ra (Go Do Yeon) since Yoon Hye Jin was the only one to agree to watch their porcupine while they had to wait to get permission. Although Yoon Hye Jin said that the children couldn’t come visit her house, she still kindly let them in so that they could play with the porcupine.

Using her special way of connecting to the villagers of Gongjin, Yoon Hye Jin has become like family to them with her relatable and sincere charm. Viewers are curious to learn what future Yoon Hye Jin will chose in the upcoming episodes and if she’ll continue to reside in Gongjin.

The next episode of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” airs on October 16 at 9 p.m. KST.
