Super Junior's Heechul And AOA's Seolhyun Talk About How They Became Close Friends

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and AOA’s Seolhyun talked about their friendship on the latest episode of “Knowing Bros” (also known as “Ask Us Anything”)!

The November 13 broadcast of the popular JTBC variety show featured each of the cast members bringing a friend onto the program as a guest, and Heechul chose to bring Seolhyun as his friend.

As many of the other cast members had brought co-stars from their other variety shows, Heechul pointed out, “This is real friendship. Seolhyun and I have never been on a program together.”

However, he soon made everyone crack up by pretending to know a little more about Seolhyun’s life than he actually did. In a well-meaning attempt to promote her next acting project, Heechul exclaimed, “Seolhyun just started filming a drama, too!” When he then turned to her expectantly, she awkwardly responded, “I haven’t started [filming a drama] yet, though.”

Later on, the other cast members asked how Heechul and Seolhyun had become friends. Seolhyun replied, “I once went to perform abroad, and Heechul was the MC for that concert. That was the first time I met him, but he was so nice and made me feel so comfortable that we ended up becoming friends.”

“Our personalities matched really well,” added Heechul. “I think it’s about six years.”

When asked whether people ever suspected them of dating because they were opposite-sex friends, the two stars surprised the cast by revealing that they weren’t really worried about such misunderstandings. Seolhyun explained, “Heechul has a lot of female friends.”

Heechul also went on to share that Seolhyun had been the very first person he’d asked after hearing about the theme of that day’s episode.

“They told me to bring a friend, so I immediately asked Seolhyun, ‘Are you free?'” he recalled. “And she said yes right away.”
