8 Cross-Group Female Idol Friendships That Are BFF Goals

When artists join the idol industry, they more often than not become friends with fellow idols from other groups. Whether they met as trainees, went to school together, or simply had been long-time friends way before they wore the fame hat, these idols have shared beautiful friendships with one another while their respective careers kicked off.

Coming back to you with the female version of cross-group idol friendships, here are eight pairs that are BFF goals!

1. Girl’s Day’s Hyeri and BLACKPINK’s Rosé

Hyeri and Rosé’s friendship blossomed after they met on the set of tvN’s “Amazing Saturday.” When the two gal pals guest starred on an episode of “Knowing Bros,” they talked fondly about how they became close despite Hyeri being older than Rosé. They also mentioned that they enjoy chatting, eating, and shopping whenever they get together and that they are good friends to one another. In the following vlog, Hyeri highlights their appearance on the show while promoting Rosé’s solo debut.

2. TWICE’s Chaeyoung and Jeon Somi

These two ladies go way back, since they have known each other for seven years as they both trained under JYP Entertainment. Although Somi left her former label to join The Black Label and launch her solo career, her friendship with Chaeyoung remains as strong as ever, and they have both supported each other throughout the years. 3. Lovelyz’s Kei and MAMAMOO’s Hwasa

Another set bringing two idols together is Mnet’s “Queendom,” where Kei and Hwasa met. Despite their busy schedules, the two kept in touch by sending each other gifts in support of one another’s musical activities. Kei stated that she was a fan of Hwasa prior to approaching her on the reality show, and she was thankful to be able to perform with her and know her up close. This clip shows a glimpse of this pair’s chemistry as well as Hwasa’s thoughts about Kei.

4. Jessi and Hyolyn

It is no news that Jessi and Hyolyn are old friends. Furthermore, they have a lot in common: they’re both badass, talented, and have a heart of gold. Although we don’t see them as much as we’d love to, their friendship is undoubtedly rock solid. When Jessi made an appearance on “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” Hyolyn showed up by her side as she was introduced right after the fierce unnie named her as her confidant.

5. Ailee and Amber Liu

This is perhaps one of the longest lasting idol friendships in the industry. Ailee and Amber have known each other for a very long time, and fans have been blessed with their many interactions throughout the years. While we don’t see much of them as of late, with COVID-19 probably being one of the main reasons, the two are still involved in each other’s lives. This small footage is perhaps the best proof to verify the previous statement and just how close (and slightly uncomfortable as of the viewing of this video) the two girls are.

6. Red Velvet’s Yeri and TWICE’s Nayeon

Now this friendship needs no introduction, as these lovely ladies flaunt it every chance they get. They have couple rings, they share photos together on social media, and Nayeon was Yeri’s very first guest on her show “Yeri’s Room.” In fact, the two besties talked about one another in depth during this pilot, revealing what makes their relationship so special.

7. Chungha and Sunmi

Another pair that is BFF goals is Chungha and Sunmi, who met for the first time on an episode of “Weekly Idol.” On top of guesting together in two more variety shows, “Running Girls” and “Amazing Saturday,” they appeared together during an interview for Marie Claire magazine where they dish about how tight they are. They also mention their energizing relationship as being one of the reasons they enjoy getting together. Watch this interview bit where the two soloists share their 10 favorites.

8. (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi and WJSN’s Yeoreum

Another industry-born friendship is that of Yuqi and Yeoreum. During an interview, Yuqi shared how much her friendship with Yeoreum means to her, as she is always there for her to comfort her and ease her worries. Likewise, Yeoreum praised Yuqi for being an active listener whenever she came to her with a problem. Watch the two friends playfully answer questions about each other!
