Jun Ji Hyun Faces Her Past Traumas In The Wake Of Catastrophic Flood In

The rangers in “Jirisan” will be dealing with the aftereffects of flooding due to heavy rain.

Written by Kim Eun Hee, “Jirisan” is a mystery drama starring Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon as rangers from Mount Jiri National Park who uncover the truth behind mysterious accidents on the mountain.

Spoilers

In the previous episode, the rangers went out in full force during a heavy rainstorm to rescue stranded hikers. At the end, Lee Yang Sun (Joo Min Kyung), a ranger who went out on active duty for the first time in the storm, was heard screaming and her walkie talkie floating down the river.

The new stills for the upcoming episode of “Jirisan” show Seo Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun), Kang Hyun Jo (Joo Ji Hoon), Jo Dae Jin (Sung Dong Il), Jung Goo Young (Oh Jung Se), and Park Il Hae (Jo Han Chul) in gear as they deal with damage from the flood. Seo Yi Kang, normally cool and collected in a crisis, looks frozen and lost. In 1995, she lost her parents in a flood, and the current flood brings back painful memories for her.

Kang Hyun Jo, Jung Goo Young, and Park Il Hae are dredging the river to look for what the flood has washed downstream. They put their whole backs into the work, but their expression show their exhaustion and grief. Although the rain has passed, the damage that it left on the mountain will take a long time to repair. Jo Dae Jin and Kim Gye Hee (Joo Jin Mo) also take this moment to reflect back on their careers. Despite their combined experience on the mountain, they weren’t able to do anything in the face of a large-scale natural disaster.

In the middle of all this, Kang Hyun Jo is also investigating a connection between the mysterious “accidents” on the mountain and the flood in 1995 that killed Seo Yi Kang’s parents.

This episode will air on December 4 at 9 p.m. KST.
