Yoo Hee Yeol Diagnosed With COVID-19 In Breakthrough Case

Singer-songwriter and television star Yoo Hee Yeol has tested positive for COVID-19.

On December 11, Yoo Hee Yeol’s agency Antenna announced that the star had been diagnosed with COVID-19 despite having been fully vaccinated in August.

The agency’s full statement is as follows:

Hello, this is Antenna.

Yesterday morning (December 10), Antenna artist Yoo Hee Yeol underwent a self-test for a scheduled activity later that day, and because he received a suspicious result, he immediately cancelled his scheduled activity and underwent [PCR] testing for COVID-19.

Although Yoo Hee Yeol had already completed his vaccination and received his second dose at the end of August, he learned last night (December 10) that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Yoo Hee Yeol is currently carrying out all necessary measures according to the instructions of government health authorities, and our agency’s staff members who came into contact with him are in the process of undergoing testing for COVID-19.

Our agency will adhere to government health authorities’ policies, and we will do everything we can for the health and safety of our artists and staff.

Thank you.

Yoo Hee Yeol is currently appearing on both his long-running KBS music talk show “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” and JTBC’s  music competition program “Sing Again 2,” which aired its first episode on December 6.

Wishing Yoo Hee Yeol a speedy recovery!
