Gaon Reveals Year-End Digital And Album Charts For 2021

Gaon has published its year-end charts for 2021!

On January 7, Gaon officially released its yearly album, digital, download, and streaming charts for 2021.

As the yearly charts are based on accumulated weekly data since the beginning of January 2021, albums and songs released earlier in the year have more weekly scores included in their results.

Album Chart

BTS topped the album chart for 2021, with 2,999,407 copies recorded for their single album “Butter.”

NCT swept three out of the next four spots on the chart: NCT 127’s “Sticker” came in at No. 2 for the year with 2,427,559 copies, followed by NCT DREAM’s “Hot Sauce” at No. 3 with 2,097,185 copies.

SEVENTEEN’s “Attacca” took No. 4 with 2,059,073 copies, and NCT’s “Universe” rounded out the top five with 1,630,715 copies.

Digital Charts

IU claimed two of the top five spots on the overall digital chart for 2021: her hit single “Celebrity” ranked No. 1, trailed by her title track “LILAC” at No. 4.

Brave Girls’ “Rollin'” came in at No. 2 on the overall digital chart, followed by BTS’s “Dynamite” at No. 3. Finally, aespa’s “Next Level” rounded out the top five for 2021.

The top five songs on the year-end streaming chart were almost exactly the same as the overall digital chart, except aespa’s “Next Level” ranked No. 4 and IU’s “LILAC” came in at No. 5.

Lim Young Woong swept the top two spots on the digital download chart for 2021, with his songs “My Starry Love” and “Love Always Runs Away” taking No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.

Kang Daniel claimed the next two spots on the chart, with “Antidote” at No. 3 and “PARANOIA” at No. 4. Finally, BTS’s “Butter” rounded out the top five.
