SF9's Chani And Jaeyoon Diagnosed With COVID-19

Just one day after SF9’s Jaeyoon was diagnosed with COVID-19, Chani has also tested positive for the virus.

On May 6, FNC Entertainment officially announced that Jaeyoon had been diagnosed with COVID-19 after developing a sore throat and other cold-like symptoms. As a result, the idol has cancelled all of his scheduled activities, including his musical performances (Jaeyoon has been starring in the musical version of the hit drama “Another Oh Hae Young” since March).

The agency’s full statement is as follows:

Hello. This is FNC Entertainment.

Yesterday, SF9’s Jaeyoon exhibited uncomfortable symptoms of a cold and sore throat, so he underwent a rapid antigen test [for COVID-19].

While his result came back negative, he underwent another rapid antigen test and a PCR test for COVID-19 this morning just in case, and both test results came back positive.

At the moment, Jaeyoon only has symptoms of a cold and sore throat, and he plans to get plenty of rest for the time being as he undergoes treatment in accordance with the guidelines of government health authorities.

He has currently cancelled all scheduled activities, including his musical performance, and we ask that you direct all inquiries about ticket refunds and performances to the production company.

We ask for your understanding regarding the fact that we have given you cause for concern, and we will always pay careful attention to the health and safety of our artists.

On the evening of May 7, FNC Entertainment went on to release the following statement announcing that Chani had also been diagnosed with COVID-19:

Hello. This is FNC Entertainment.

Last night, SF9’s Chani used a self-test kit [for COVID-19] as a precautionary measure, and his result was positive.
Therefore, this morning, he underwent PCR testing for COVID-19, and his test results came back positive.

At the moment, [Chani] does not have any particular symptoms aside from mild cold symptoms and a sore throat, and he plans to get plenty of rest for the time being as he undergoes treatment in accordance with the guidelines of government health authorities.

We ask for your understanding regarding the fact that we have given you cause for concern with successive news of [SF9 members] being diagnosed with COVID-19, and we will always pay careful attention to the health and safety of our artists.
