Key Reasons To Look Forward To The Final Episodes Of

With only four episodes left of “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2,” will the Gyesu Clinic team successfully find happiness?

Based on the novel of the same name, “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” is a tvN drama starring Kim Min Jae as Yoo Se Poong, a well-known internal medicine doctor who was expelled from the royal court after getting caught up in a conspiracy. In Season 1, he embarked on a mission to become a true doctor who heals the heart after meeting Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi) and Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung) in the strange and beautiful village of Gyesu.

Beyond the healing of the body and mind, this trio gifts viewers and clients the courage and hope to live. While treating their clients’ deep wounds, these characters have also grown stronger and more mature. However, with the continued threats against Yoo Se Poong and the Gyesu Clinic, here are three reasons to look forward to the drama’s final four episodes!

Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo’s romance

Following the frustration viewers felt in Season 1 with Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo’s ambiguous relationship, this pair did not disappoint with their straightforward actions this season. However, the bliss of their romance was brief with unexpected obstacles constantly disturbing their peace.

The first threat to their relationship was princess Lee Seo Yi (Woo Davi), who proudly referred to herself as Yoo Se Poong’s first love. When Lee Seo Yi told Seo Eun Woo that her love was harmful, Seo Eun Woo was brought back to reality. Out of fear that her status as a widow would harm Yoo Se Poong’s reputation, she intentionally created distance in their relationship.

Yoo Se Poong’s firm reassurance helped settle Seo Eun Woo’s nerves for awhile, until they were met with a new obstacle – their relationship causing a stir in the palace. While faced with this inevitable hurdle, anticipation is rising to see how the couple overcomes this when both parties prioritize each other’s comfort and happiness over their own.

The start of Yoo Se Poong’s counterattack?

The people who exposed Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo’s relationship to those in the palace were Jeon Kang Il (Kang Young Seok) and Ahn Hak Soo (Baek Sung Chul), who have consistently despised Yoo Se Poong and the Gyesu Clinic. With Jeon Kang Il being Yoo Se Poong’s rival and Ahn Hak Soo displeased with Gye Ji Han for working with Seo Eun Woo, the two took issue with Yoo Se Poong’s affection for a widow and even tried to erase the official records of his rank.

A particularly eerie aspect is that Jeon Kang Il put on his friendly face to visit Gyesu Clinic and watch Yoo Se Poong in preparation of his next move. Why is Jeon Kang Il working so hard to take Yoo Se Poong down and how will Yoo Se Poong respond?

Potential trauma recovery for Yoo Se Poong

Despite being in all sorts of danger, those working at Gyesu Clinic have not stopped spreading happiness. For those with festered diseases and illnesses that cannot be treated with acupuncture, the prescription provided by Gyesu Clinic is deep sympathy. For example, So Chun (Lee Ga Eun) and princess Lee Seo Yi were touchingly told that they need hearts that value themselves.

While this method of treatment has worked well for Gyesu Clinic, Yoo Se Poong is still looked down upon as a doctor for being unable to treat with acupuncture. Will Yoo Se Poong finally be able to overcome his trauma and return to skillfully treating patients with acupuncture?

The next episodes of “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2” air on February 1 and 2 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
