The director of MBC’s upcoming drama “Joseon Attorney” (literal translation) has shared his thoughts on working with the three leads!

“Joseon Attorney” will star Woo Do Hwan as an oejibu (an attorney in the Joseon dynasty) who seeks to avenge the death of his parents through a trial. WJSN’s Bona will star as idealistic princess Lee Yeon Joo, who also seeks to avenge her father using the law, while VIXX’s Cha Hak Yeon (N) will play Yoo Ji Seon, the Joseon-era equivalent of their city’s mayor.

Describing the appeal of leading man Woo Do Hwan, “Joseon Attorney” director Kim Seung Ho remarked, “He has a powerful, charming gaze and a humorous wit that allows him to pull off a wide variety of genres. He’s an actor who has it all.”

Notably, “Joseon Attorney” will mark director Kim Seung Ho’s reunion with Bona, who previously worked with him on the hit drama “Twenty Five, Twenty One.”

“[Bona] is completely unlike the character of Go Yu Rim, whom she played in her previous drama, and she is a lovely and warm actress with a pure heart,” said the director. “She’s calm, but also cute at the same time. She’s a 100 percent perfect fit for the character of Princess Yeon Joo.”

As for Cha Hak Yeon, Kim Seung Ho commented, “Actor Cha Hak Yeon’s ability to act and express his character’s emotions through his gaze is outstanding. He’s an actor who brings strength to his lines, even with his delicate voice.”

In terms of what he hopes viewers will can keep an eye on in the drama, the director replied, “The refreshing thrill delivered by the heroic main character, who gives strength to the people that have suffered injustice, as well as the stories of the diverse array of characters. Just like the leads’ hopes and goals, the drama bears my hope that viewers will also go about living their lives with hope and anticipation.”

Finally, he added, “I hope that our viewers, who live in present day, will be able to relate to the stories of the Joseon-era people’s worries and concerns.”

“Joseon Attorney” will premiere on March 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser for the drama here!
