[Gallery] Happy Birthday to the "Nation's Little Sister" IU

Happy birthday to IU, who turned 20 today  (she has been 21 in Korean age since the start of the year.)

Born on May 16 1993, her real name is Lee Ji Eun. She made her official debut in September 2008 with her single “Lost Child.” It must have been a wild ride for her to debut at the age of 15 as a soloist. 

Currently, IU is starring as the lead role of the weekend drama “You Are the Best Lee Soon Shin.”

She is also working on her comeback album which will be released later this year. It has been reported that it will be very different compared to her past works.

2011 was a huge year for IU as she gained a lot of popularity as one of the main characters in “Dream High.” She released her huge hit song “Good Day” in December of 2010, and it went on to become one of the biggest hits for the first half of 2011.

“Last Fantasy” was her second full length album, and was released in November 2011.

She released her first Japanese mini album earlier this year!
