Former T-ara Member Hwayoung Will Make a Comeback as a DJ?

Recently, former T-ara member Hwayoung has been updating us with pictures of her DJ-ing practices through her SNS, and she finally has her first gig coming up on December 31.

She will be at the “2014 Miller Countdown Party,” at the Hannam-dong Blue Square, where other famous DJs like DJ Koo, Park Myung Soo, and Tata will also be in attendance. Hwayoung will be attending as the youngest and the first female DJ at the event.

DJ Tata, who trained Hwayoung, said, “Regardless of the fact that there is technology nowadays that automatically matches beat for you, Hwayoung insisted on starting with a solid foundation, and practices distinguishing tempo and matching beat with a 500 won coin. She’s a fast learner with a talent for DJ-ing, and is doing her very best.”

Hwayoung said, “It hasn’t been too long since I’ve started learning, but this is my first time on stage in a while; I won’t forget the excitement and passion that I’ve been practicing with, and I will show everyone my absolute best. I like the Australian twins, Nervo. If the opportunity ever arises, I’d like to create stages for people worldwide with my twin, Hyoyoung, like Nervo.”

An official at Hwayoung’s agency Wellmade StarM commented that Hwayoung gave up her year break to prepare for her DJ activities starting on the final day of 2013. The official said, “We first kind of jokingly suggested that she try DJ-ing, but it became a real thing, and she surprised us once again.”

Hwayoung recently signed with Wellmade StarM, home of Lee Jong Suk, and is planning on various activities for 2014.
