Actress Lee Yoo Ri, who made a remarkable performance as antagonist at the MBC drama “Jang Bo Ri Is Here has reached a milestone in her career as she copped the 2014 MBC Drama Awards Grand Prize after 13 years since her debut.

On December 30, the actress proved her popularity and appeal to the audience as she won the Grand Prize at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards. The Grand Prize winner was decided by a viewers’ vote system with the nominees being announced at the start of the ceremony.

With her effective performance as antagonist in the family drama “Jang Bo Ri Is Here!,” she was able to capture the audience’s hate for her character.

The actress was close to tears upon receiving the award. “Actually, all actors would be the same about casting. After being cast, the actor will play the role. Thank you to writer Kim Sang Ok who chose me to act (this role), thank you to Director Baek Ho Min,” Lee Yoo Ri began her acceptance speech.

“The grand prize will not be talked about because of me… I didn’t get the grand prize all by myself. If not for the good project, direction, and Oh Yeon Seo, I wouldn’t have been able to do my role properly,” Lee Yoo Ri choked as she continued to speak.

“It’s like a dream. I’m sorry,” continued Lee Yoo Ri and then she mentiones the names of the producers of ‘Jang Bo Ri Is Here’ as well as Oh Chang Seok, Kim Ji Hoon, and the other people whom she work with in the drama.

“I will meet you again through a good character portrayal in the future,” Lee Yoo Ri ended her speech.

Finally, she sent a message to her husband, “To my beloved husband who doesn’t forget to give me strength even when it’s hard and difficult. I hope you are healthy and live a long and happy life.”

Lee Yoo Ri, who made her debut in 2001 through the drama “School 4,” garnered 54.11 percent of the votes which is a total of 385,434 votes out of 712,300 total votes received.
