"Valid Love" Writer Has Nothing but Praise for Uhm Tae Woong's Acting
Writer Kim Do Woo of tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Valid Love” has nothing but praise for Uhm Tae Woong’s acting.
In “Valid Love,” Uhm Tae Woong plays Jang Hee Tae, a researcher at a fishery and loving husband to Kim Il Ree (played by Lee Si Young). Hee Tae and Il Ree met when Hee Tae was Il Ree’s high school substitute teacher. Now married, they live as a typical married couple, and Hee Tae thinks his life is perfect until he discovers that his wife is having an affair with a carpenter named Kim Joon (played by Lee Soo Hyuk). Hee Tae must battle feelings of betrayal and his lingering affection for his wife. Uhm Tae Woong has convincingly and poignantly portrayed Hee Tae’s dramatic emotional fluctuations as he sees his wife fall in love with another man.
“Uhm Tae Woong has depicted his character flawlessly, to the point that I wonder if he has been possessed by his character Jang Hee Tae. I became his fan through this drama,” said writer Kim Do Woo.
She continued, “I cherish all of the characters in the drama, but my heart goes out to Jang Hee Tae especially. Jang Hee Tae is the center of this drama. Although his heart understands his wife, his mind won’t let him forgive her, and he [is paralyzed trying to figure out what to do]. But soon enough the viewers will see what a great husband Jang Tae Hee is.”
“Valid Love” airs every Monday and Tuesday at 11 p.m., KST on tvN.
