NCT 127 Answers Burning Questions And Reveals Future Goals

SM Entertainment’s latest group NCT 127, the Seoul sub-unit team from NCT, had an interview with news outlet My Daily to talk about their group and their goals for the year.

First, the group talked about debuting. Taeyong said, “Although I promoted through NCT U, I felt just as excited while prearing with new members.”

While some members of NCT U are in NCT 127 as well, there are new members in NCT 127 as well. Yuta revealed, “I was really nervous because it was my first time, but the members who promoted in NCT U helped me and I was able to relax.”

Furthermore, Haechan talks about why he changed his name when he used the name Donghyuk during his SM Rookies days. He said, “Lee Soo Man gave me this name with the meaning of becoming a new person.” Haechan further explains that his new name means “shine bright uprightly.”

WinWin also shared about how members help him with speaking Korean. When asked about not being the maknae anymore, Mark remarked, “I’m not the maknae if you look at our ages, but I still feel like a maknae. Everyone else except Haechan are hyungs so I feel like Haechan and I are the maknaes.”

Previously a member of JTBC’s “Abnormal Summit,” Yuta talked about how his nickname changed from Takoyaki Prince to Yakisoba due to his new hairstyle.

Vocalists Jaehyun and Taeil spoke about rapping for the first time. They both agreed that recording for rapping felt different. Taeil appears to have especially enjoyed it.

Taeil also clarified rumors about his having an IQ of 150 and said, “It’s not true. That’s a false rumor. I think it’s because I was good at math when I was in elementary school. I was a math genius.”

The members also talked about how NCT U members not in NCT 127 have shown support. Jaehyun commented, “While we preparing for 127 other members were doing their own activities, so we supported each other. Yesterday, Doyoung hyung went on a radio show and we supported him and he supported us as well.”

Finally, they revealed their goals regarding their current promotions. The group revealed that they would like to get first place and a rookie award saying it’s important to dream big.
